Karahi Gosht

Ingredients

For Beef

  • Beef – 1 kg
  • Lehsan Paste (Garlic paste) – 1 tsp
  • Namak (Salt) – 1/2 tsp
  • Pani (Water) – 2.5 glasses

For Gravy

  • Tamater (Tomatoes) – 5 large
  • Pissi Laal Mirchen (Red chilli powder) – 1.5 tsp
  • Namak (Salt) – 3/4 tsp [to taste]
  • Pissi Kali Mirchain (Black pepper powder) – 1 tsp
  • Haldi (Turmeric powder) – 1/4 tsp
  • Pissa Dhaniya (Coriander powder) – 1 tsp [heaped)
  • Zeera (Cumin) powder – 1 tsp [heaped]
  • Garm Masala (Whole spices powder) – 1/2 tsp
  • Desi Ghee – 5 tbs
  • Dahi (Yogurt) – 1 cup
  • Oil – 3/4 cup

Method

Step1: Add Beef, Pani, Salt, and Lehsan paste in a pan. Mix, cover, and cook on medium to low flame for 50 minutes.

Step 2: Add Tamater, mix, cover, and cook for 20 minutes on medium to low flame.

Step 3: Add Oil and cook for 1 minute.

Step 4: Add Pissi Laal Mirchen, Namak, Pissi Kali Mirchain, Haldi, Sukha Dhaniya Powder, and Zeera Powder. Mix and cook until the masala is ready.

Step 5: Add Dahi and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Step 6: Add Desi Ghee, Sabz Dhaniya and Sabz Mirchen.
