- Chicken – 1 kg
- Piyaz (Onion) – 1 medium
- Lehsan paste (Garlic paste) – 1 tsp
- Dahi (Yogurt) – ¾ cup
- Balai/Cream – ¾ cup
- Sirka (Vinegar) – 1 tbs
- Pissi laal mirchen (Red chilli powder) – 1½ tsp
- Namak (Salt) – 1¼tsp
- Dhaniya (Coriander) powder – 1 tsp
- Sabz mirchen (Green chillies) – 4-5
- Sabz dhaniya (Green coriander) – 2-3 tbs
- Dar cheeni (Cinnamon stick) – 2
- Sabz elaichi (Green cardamom) – 3
- Taiz pat – 1
- Badam (Almonds) – 15
- Qasoori methi – 2 tsp
Step 1:Add Chicken, Lehsan (Garlic) paste, Pissi laal mirchen (Red chilli powder), Namak (Salt), Dhaniya (Coriander) powder, Dahi (Yogurt), Balai, Sirka (Vinegar), Sabz mirchen (Green chillies), Sabz dhaniya (Green coriander) and mix. Marinate the chicken for 2 hours. Use coal to give dum to the marinated chicken.
Step 2: Add Piyaz (Onion) in ¾ cup of oil. Cook till Onions become light golden. Add Badam (Almonds) and mix for 1-2 minutes. Transfer this to a blending jug make a smooth paste by using ¼ cup of water.
Step 3: Add Dar cheeni (Cinnamon sticks), Sabz elaichi (Green cardamom), Taiz pat in the same oil. Mix for 30 seconds. Add Piyaz paste and mix till oil separates.
Step 4: Add marinated chicken, mix, cover, and cook on low flame till oil separates or the required consistency of gravy is obtained. Add Qasoori methi and mix.
