Shepherd’s Pie

Ingredients

  • Keema (Mince) – 400 gram
  • Piyaz (Onion) – 1 medium
  • Lehsan (Garlic) paste – 1 tsp
  • Adrak (Ginger) paste – 1 tsp
  • Pissi laal mirchen (Red chilli powder) – ¾ tsp
  • Namak (Salt) – ¾ tsp
  • Pissi kali mirchain (Black pepper) – ¾ tsp
  • Oregano – 1 tsp
  • Paprika powder – 1 tsp
  • Tamater (Tomatoes) – 3 medium
  • Shimla mirch (Capsicum) – 2 medium
  • Pani (Water) – 1¾ cup
  • Oil – ¼ cup

Method

Step 1: Add Oil, Keema (Mince) in a pan and cook till it changes its colour. Add Piyaz (Onion) and mix for 30-40 seconds at medium to low flame. Add Lehsan (Garlic) paste, Adrak (Ginger) paste, and give it a good mix.

Step 2: Add Pissi laal mirchen (Red chilli powder), Namak (Salt), Pissi kali mirchain (Black pepper powder), Paprika powder, Tamater, and mix well. Add Pani (Water), mix, cover, and cook at low flame for 10 minutes.

Step 3: Add Shimla mirch (Capsicum), Oregano, mix, cover, and cook at medium to low flame for 2-3 minutes. After that cook at medium to high flame till water evaporates.

Ingredients: [Mashed Potatoes]

  • Aloo (Potatoes) – 600 grams [boiled and mashed]
  • Butter – 1 tbs [melted]
  • Namak (Salt) – ½ tsp
  • Pissi kali mirchain (Black pepper powder) – ½ tsp
  • Kuti laal mirch (Crushed red pepper) – ½ tsp
  • Oregano – ¼ tsp
  • Doodh (Milk) – ½ cup [warm]
  • Balai – 2 tbs

Method

Step 1: Add Aloo (Potatoes), Pissi kali mirchen (Black pepper powder), Namak (Salt), Kuti laal mirch (Crushed red pepper), Butter, Balai/Cream, Doodh (Milk), and Oregano in a bowl and give it a good mix.

Ingredients: [Layering]

  • Cooked Mince
  • Anda (Egg) – 1
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Cheese – ½ cup
  • Kuti laal mirch (Crushed red pepper) – for garnish
  • Oregano – for garnish

Method

Step 1: Make a layer of cooked Mince. Spread Anda (Egg) and cover it with Mashed Potatoes. Top it with Cheese. Sprinkle Kuti laal mirch (Crushed red pepper) and Oregano.

Bake at 180 °C for 20 minutes.
