Degi Special Zarda

Chawal (Rice) [Pakki Basmati / Sella]1/2 kg
Cheeni (Sugar)1.75 glasses
Anday (Eggs) [boiled and cut in cubes]3
Chicken [boiled and shredded]1 pao
Badaam (Almonds)1/4 cup
Akhrot (Walnuts)1/4 cup
Sabz Elaichi (Green cardamom)4
Zarday ka rung (Orange food colour)1 tsp
Desi Ghee10 tbs
Doodh (Milk)1 cup


Step 1: Boil 8 glasses of water in a pan and add Chawal (Rice), Zarday ka rung (Orange food colour), mix and cook till rice is about 90 percent cooked. Strain the rice and set aside.

Step 2: Add Ghee, Sabz Elaichi (Green cardamom) to a pan and mix for 10 seconds.

Step 3: Add Chawal (Rice) and mix.

Step 4: Add Cheeni (Sugar), Badam (Almonds), Akhrot (Walnuts), Anday (Eggs), Chicken, Doodh (Milk), and mix. Cover and cook on medium flame till Cheeni (Sugar) melts.

Step 5: Mix, cover, and cook on medium to low flame till water evaporates.
